Cooper & Co Real Estate Limited started in Dunedin on the 2nd of April 1991. Martin Cooper, our Managing Director, decided that rather than just selling real estate he wanted to run a real estate business that was different to any other currently in the market place. He wanted a business that thought about their clients wants and needs and made sure that they were met. He wanted the best people working for him – those with the same mindset of service first.
Martin then made the bold move to relocate to Auckland’s North Shore and has never looked back. He was invited to join Harcourts, New Zealand’s largest real estate company on the 1st of February 1997, with two offices in Milford and Glenfield. In 2003 the Takapuna and Devonport offices were opened, 2008 Browns Bay and 2009 the Albany office. In 2010 the company grew even larger opening offices in Birkenhead, Beach Haven and Mairangi Bay ensuring that even more of the North Shore was provided with the same opportunity to receive the service and commitment provided by agents within Harcourts Cooper & Co. In 2012 an office in Greenhithe opened, Sunnynook joined the group in 2014, in 2016 Birkenhead Point and in 2017 Hobsonville and Westgate became the newest offices in the group. Harcourts Cooper & Co is now Harcourt’s largest franchise with 18 offices including a dedicated Property Management arm, a Commercial division in the name of NAI Harcourts based in Takapuna and an Auction division that is home to New Zealand’s current Auctioneer of the Year as well as other award-winning Auctioneers. Harcourts Cooper & Co feature heavily at all awards functions within the Harcourts Group both nationally and internationally as well as in the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand annual Excellence Awards.

Harcourts Cooper & Co are, we believe, the only real estate company on the North Shore with a designated Community Support division. In 2017 we supported over 430 different charities, schools, teams, organisations and events. Over the last 4 years events that Harcourts Cooper & Co have been involved in helped our local community raise over $3.9 million.
We have our own coffee & ice-cream truck that goes to various events and all profits raised go back to the local community, we provide auctioneers and prizes for charity auctions and we financially support many events that help the people of our community. Giving back to the community who support us is important to us. Our team are actively involved in our sponsorships and relish the opportunity to meet and greet past, present and future clients in a non-real estate environment.
